Enter the Tigeress

Posted on Wednesday 27 February 2008

Hi all,

as you can see, this blog has taken a new turn and will be featuring a new add-on, the Woman.

Pls welcome missus as my joint author.

she will be providing us with the perspective of the females (if any. HAH!)

For now, there are still some codings to be done (man’s work) and blood to be sacrificed to the gods (woman’s work). But in the near future, you can look forward to:

  • views from both sexes on a common discussion topic
  • an in-depth look into the gears of life, views and relationships in both sexes
  • sexy photos of us
  • a lively harem for both males and females to post their views on our topics, without spilling blood from one another.

Stay tune as we bring more saucy edison scandal zest!

Cover Girl

Posted on Wednesday 27 February 2008

I am covergirl this week. Not the glamourous pretty model you see on magazines. Rather, covering someone’s work when they are away, on leave or just down with illness. =.=

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, covering people. Half the week I am doing other people’s work, rushing other people’s tasks. I don’t mind rushing but hey, if this goes on, I had better be given a title of Backup Executive or something. I am always the back up…yadah yadah. I mean I don’t mind but hey, can the person I am backing up be more reasonable when it comes to taking leaves? She’s hardly confirmed and the leaves that she’s taken is what I would have taken in one year. It’s that bad. Yes.

While I am trying to calm down and muster a smile at everyone, my insides are boiling and my evil side threatens to scream and do something bad. My rational side says, “Don’t get angry. It’s part and parcel of working life and it’s going to be a norm since u are unlucky to be backing someone like her”.

Well, peace then? The daily hustle and bustle of work will cease to bother one as time flies. On a positive note, my sister’s forever backing people up so compared to her, I am in a better plight.

the east rises early

Posted on Tuesday 19 February 2008

so today starts the second day of being a EastSider. and it’s not going as well as i thought.

firstly, having stayed in the extreme west, west and then central, and now the extreme east. the transition from the central to east is a huge effort.

last weekend was spent packing and moving and unpacking and moving and packing because this-shouldnt-go-here-and-that-doesnt-look-good-there and moving. i ended up sleeping in the wee hours. not to mention that i woke up at 7am on Sat itself. @.@

also, i think i hurt my back. =(

also transporting my skinny ass from the east to my workplace is taking a whole load of time. the old place at central takes the most 20mins to reach, but now it takes slightly an hour from the east to the west.

and did i tell you Bedok Interchange is a horrible place to be at in the mornings, before 8am?? literally swarms of mindless whitecollars.

despite all these, the good that came out of all these is that im 2mins away from ECP, missus lives a dozen or so busstops down the road and the buildings around here looks dwarfish.

and of course, going to work and going home with the missus just makes the long journeys much much better. but i need to fix my timing yet, as i yet cant grasp the time the buses comes (curse you, SBS!) even though i woke up at 6am everyday.

GeekStuff: eeePC review

Posted on Tuesday 12 February 2008

i’m now typing this at one of the open areas where they believe things should be free (aka Wireless@SG).

my first impression of this nifty little thing is that - its so small, will it stand up to my abuse?

after messing with it for some time, it certainly did.

I’m still using the stock Xandros distro, though i had done some minor software tweaks as suggested by the good people from eeeuser.com’s wiki and forum. For those who had been an avid user of M$ products, it is safe to say that you may not have much of a problem using the stock OS loaded as it had mimiced as closely as possible, the look and workings of a windows-terminal. Of course, the eeePC is able to support win xp (though a slimmed down version of it.), other OSes and various Linux distros.

Technically, i had yet put it through any hard work but the users in eeeuser.com had certainly pushed their bucks far beyond anyone possibly imagine. From software cracks and tweaks, to full hardware add-ons and configuration. All in a little box no larger than your folder, weighing less than a kilogram. This, has prove that this small little guy is almost fully mod-able.

For my information about the Asus eeePC, do visit their website or go to www.eeeuser.com.

ps: the eeepc is sold out everywhere in SG, currently.
